Marie Marquis
Hailed for her extraordinary virtuosity and elegance, soprano Marie Marquis is a sought after soloist and recitalist. A Joy in Singing Artist Award winner, 2020 Camille Coloratura Awards Encouragement Award winner, and 2022 NATSAA National Finalist, Marie is a gifted singing actor and an avid performer of new and traditional music spanning five centuries. She has won residencies at the Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Music Festival, Ars Musica Chorale, and Songfest at Colburn. Credits include performances with The Thirteen, Bourbon Baroque, Brooklyn Art Song Society, Bel Cantanti, North Mississippi Symphony, Cornell Baroque Orchestra, as well as appearances with dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, Cincinnati Song Initiative, Metropolis Ensemble, and Heartbeat Opera. Recent credits include Carissimi’s Jephte, a recital of songs by Rachmaninoff and Rimsky-Korsakov, Handel’s Messiah, Buxtehude’s Jesu Membra Nostri, and Mozart’s Requiem. Marie holds degrees from Peabody Conservatory, Johns Hopkins University, and Bard College.
